Will LaMalfa Keep Promise or Succumb to Party Politics?

During the recent congressional primary race, U.S. Rep.-elect Doug LaMalfa joined other candidates attending a political forum in declaring he would vote against increasing the nation’s debt ceiling.

It’s likely he’ll get a chance real soon to put his words into action.

Dare I say:  Will LaMalfa keep his promise or succumb to the pressures of party politics?

Congressional Primary Candidates Speak Out!

Michael Dacquisto (Republican): “I think he (Doug LaMalfa) is dishonest and unethical and not trustworthy.”

Gary Oxley (Independent): “I am endorsing Jim Reed for Congress because I believe he, rather than Doug LaMalfa, has the best interests of the American People at heart and will be the People’s best advocate in local, national and international affairs.”

Gregory Cheadle (Republican): “In Jim Reed I see a highly educated man with integrity, who can be a leader in D.C., not just another “go along to get along” special interest entrenched Congressman. I will not endorse a candidate who makes hundreds of thousands of dollars a year in subsidies and selling water allotments at the expense of hard working Americans.”

Sam Aanestad (Republican): “I have filed a complaint with the Federal Election Commission against Doug LaMalfa.”

Pete Stiglich (Republican):  “And, my friends, there’s the rub when it comes to Doug LaMalfa. Frankly, at least in my opinion, he’s racked up an unacceptable litany of what I’ll simply describe as ‘misbehaviors’.  Sure, democratic congressional candidate, Jim Reed, is far from perfect. But, I know him to be an honest and principled man. And that, alone, makes him deserving of my support.”

Dare I Say: What’s Most Important to You – Principle or Party?

For months, I’ve struggled to decide how I would vote in the upcoming 1st congressional district election.  As a long-time conservative and registered republican, it should have been an easy decision.

The idea of even considering a democrat was a chilling, even frightening, thought.

In the end, though, it boiled down to a vote either for principle or for party.

With less than a month to go before Election Day, I’ve come to a decision.  It was not easy.  But, I’m proud to say, principle wins . . . as it should each and every time.

As John Quincy Adams so aptly put it long ago, Always vote for principle, though you may vote alone, and you may cherish the sweetest reflection that your vote is never lost.”

According to American Heritage, principle is defined as “a rule or standard, especially of good behavior: a man of principle.”

And, my friends, there’s the rub when it comes to Doug LaMalfa.  Frankly, at least in my opinion, he’s racked up an unacceptable litany of what I’ll simply describe as ‘misbehaviors’.

Sure, democratic congressional candidate, Jim Reed, is far from perfect.  But, I know him to be an honest and principled man.  And that, alone, makes him deserving of my support.

For me, principle always trumps party.

Dare I say, what’s most important to you . . . principle or party?

Elect a Politician Whom You Can Trust

Andy Giambroni: Elect a politician whom you can trust

Many of the politicians who are in office today cannot be trusted.

Unfortunately, the big-money, special-interest groups often hiding in the wings are doing all they can to influence our elected leaders. And, of course, you and I will most likely never know who these big-money people are.

On the other hand, the only people in our government I feel can be trusted are those who serve or have served in our military. They have done a superb job in defending our freedoms over these many years.

When you get ready to cast your vote in the upcoming election, please use your important vote for candidates you feel you can trust and who cannot be bought by these special-interest groups.

I, personally, am backing a retired colonel of the U.S. Air Force of 26 years, Pete Stiglich, for U.S. Congress in California’s 1st Congressional District. He has impressed me with his knowledge, his integrity, and his love for America. And, most of all, Colonel Pete has my complete trust and confidence.

With Colonel Pete, America always comes first. Like he always says, “No more personal, political or special interests over what’s best for America.”

Colonel Pete gets it exactly right when he says it’s time to begin Putting America First.

LaMalfa – Where’s the Beef?

LaMalfa – Where’s the Beef?
Shortly after announcing his candidacy for congress, Doug LaMalfa established a campaign website located at http://www.douglamalfa.com/ .
Likewise, I established my site at www.colonelpete.com .
The first thing I did was to personally spend several weeks developing content for my issues/solutions page.  Obviously, at least in my opinion, these positions are critical to effectively communicating priorities and solutions to the voters.
To the contrary, Mr. LaMalfa’s website continues to remain silent as it relates to presenting any issues or solutions..
Back on March 26, 2012, Aaron Park’s blog, RightonDaily.com highlighted the absence of issues and solutions on LaMalfa’s official campaign webpage (copied below).  Shortly thereafter, someone on the LaMalfa team posted info related to Obamacare….and that’s the way it remains today.
Aaron Park’s RightonDaily blog posting (March 26, 2012):
Visit Doug LaMalfa’s website – look at the Issues and Solutions Webpage.
There’s nothing there! – It says coming soon.
I think the rice lobby will be disappointed if they found that out…
In contrast – look at Sam Aanestad’s Website.
Look at Colonel Pete’s Website… There are issues there!
It is stuff like this that makes it difficult to buy rice. I feel like I am being double-taxed every time I do.
I find it very revealing that Doug LaMalfa can find time to ensure his list of endorsements remains current on his campaign webpage, but can’t seem to find the time to personally develop and post his position on the many issues facing America today.
