Well, it’s about 11:36pm on Tuesday evening and I just finished a wonderful day visiting folks up in Siskiyou County.
First stop was McCloud. Then on to Mt Shasta City, Weed and finally Yreka.
At each stop, I got the chance to visit with all the small business owners in the main downtown areas. A great opportunity to hear their concerns and introduce myself as a congressional candidate.
Sure enjoy one on one campaigning. I’ve gotten to know so many wonderful folks along the way and the chance to visit some really neat towns in the district.
I ended the day up in Yreka as guest speaker at the Yreka Tea Party meeting. Talk about a fired up group of dedicated patriots. The energy in the room was electric and these folks truly care about preserving their liberties and their way of life. It was a great pleasure and honor to meet with each and every one of these great Americans and I look forward to more opportunities in the future.
I’ll close by simply offering my thanks and appreciation to all those wonderful folks we met today for their warm and gracious hospitality.
God bless!
Pete

Greg Barnette/Record Searchlight State Sen. Doug LaMalfa talks with supporters in front of the local Republican headquarters on Hilltop Drive in Redding in January after announcing he’s running for the seat being vacated by Rep. Wally Herger.
It didn’t take long after Doug LaMalfa announced he was running for Congress last month before a supporter of his Republican opponents went on the attack, zeroing in on just less than $4.7 million of federal subsidies paid to his family rice farm over the last 15 years.
Under the headline “Doug LaMalfa for Congress? Are you kidding me???” Sacramento-area conservative activist Aaron Park posted a logo on his blog showing Republican LaMalfa’s trademark cowboy hat emblazoned with two dollar signs.
The hat was perched atop a bag of rice.
“Nor-Cal Top-10 List of Farm-Aid Recipients,” the caption says.
In an interview, Park says he believes it’s important to point out LaMalfa’s family rice farm in Richvale has received millions of dollars of federal subsidies over the years, something he feels will be one of the biggest issues in the congressional race.
“It’s an issue about honesty and integrity,” Park said. “It’s about presenting yourself as one thing, when you’re not. He really isn’t a fiscal conservative. He’s a liberal conservative.”
LaMalfa bristled at the attack.
“This guy is a paid mudslinger,” LaMalfa said of Park, who is Shasta County Supervisor Les Baugh’s state Senate campaign manager. “They try it in every campaign. It’s becoming a pretty old story.”
He said subsidies help “breadbasket” crop growers like his family offset the costs of burdensome government regulations, taxes, trade policies and escalating fuel costs that threaten to put them out of business.
The subsidies, he said, keep struggling farmers of rice, corn and other crops “on life support.”
LaMalfa’s family farm received $4.69 million of federal subsidies between 1995 and 2010, according to the Environmental Working Group, an organization that tallies federal farm aid.
When asked about LaMalfa’s subsidies this week, all four of his opponents said they were aware of the federal payments, although some stopped short of saying they would use them to attack LaMalfa, who has the endorsement of retiring U.S. Rep. Wally Herger, R-Chico.
Republican Pete Stiglich, of Cottonwood, had no such problem.
Stiglich said it’s hypocritical for a fellow Republican to receive federal farm aid, especially because LaMalfa has billed himself as a leader in the fight against expensive government entitlement programs.
“When it meets his personal interest, it’s not a big entitlement,” Stiglich said.
Gregory Cheadle, a Happy Valley Republican, agreed.
“You can’t condemn welfare recipients on one end then get welfare on the other end,” Cheadle said. “ I mean 5 million bucks? Come on.”
Others were less aggressive about the issue.
The only Democrat to enter the race, Jim Reed of Fall River Mills, said he wasn’t planning to bring up the subsidies, but he will if LaMalfa prompts him to.
“I guess if we’re in the middle of a debate and he’s really going off on small government and reduced spending, it may come up,” Reed said.
“But I’m not planning on using it as weapon at this point.”
Spokesman Mark Standriff said Republican Sam Aanestad’s congressional campaign is for now going to showcase the former state senator’s record, which includes cutting government spending, promoting free markets and job growth.
He said Aanestad’s campaign had no immediate plans to make the subsidies an issue.
However, just minutes after the phone interview ended, Standriff emailed two scanned copies of articles the Chico Enterprise Record published in 2007 detailing Butte and Glenn counties’ farm subsidy recipients.
LaMalfa’s rice operation in Richvale, Dsl Farms, was the ninth-largest recipient in the northern Sacramento Valley, according to the article.
LaMalfa, a state senator who won his seat after trouncing Republican Rick Keene in 2010, said Keene’s campaign also tried to make the subsidies an issue in that election, and it didn’t work.
LaMalfa said he predicts the other candidates attacking will meet similar fates, because it amounts to attacking the livelihoods of farmers in the rural, agricultural-based 1st Congressional District.
“There’s a good line that comes to mind,” LaMalfa said.
“When you gripe about your farmer, don’t talk with your mouth full.”

The Heritage Foundation, a conservative research organization, published an agriculture backgrounder #2043, entitled How Farm Subsidies Harm Taxpayers, Consumers, and Farmers, Too, by Brian Riedl and published on June 20, 2007.
This year’s expiration of federal agriculture policies gives Congress an
important opportunity to take a fresh look at the $25 billion spent annually on
farm subsidies. Current farm policies are so poorly designed that they actually
worsen the conditions they claim to solve. For example:
- Farm subsidies are intended to alleviate farmer poverty, but the majority of
subsidies go to commercial farms with average incomes of $200,000 and net
worths of nearly $2 million.
- Farm subsidies are intended to raise farmer incomes by remedying low crop
prices. Instead, they promote overproduction and therefore lower prices
further.
- Farm subsidies are intended to help struggling family farmers. Instead, they
harm them by excluding them from most subsidies, financing the
consolidation of family farms, and raising land values to levels that
prevent young people from entering farming.
- Farm subsidies are intended to be consumer-friendly and taxpayer-friendly.
Instead, they cost Americans billions each year in higher taxes and higher
food costs.
Lawmakers would be hard-pressed to enact a set of policies that are more
destructive to farmers, taxpayers, and consumers than the current farm policies.
For these and other reasons, organizations representing taxpayers, consumers,
environmentalists, international trade, Third World countries, and even farmers
themselves have united around the shared conclusion that the current farm
subsidy system is failing and in dire need of reform during this year’s
reauthorization.

What a great honor and priviledge to have been invited to speak at today’s luncheon meeting of the Chico Republican Women’s Federated.
Fantastic turnout with over 70 good conservatives showing up for the affair. Outstanding leadership by Sue and her great team of Republican women. And, a delectable meal to boot. What more could one hope for?
Thank you Chico Republican Women’s Federated for your wonderful hospitality, your service to your community and nation, and your commitment to our shared conservative values.
God bless you and God bless America!
Friends,
Well, we headed off to Nevada County yesterday to attend the Nevada County Republican Party meeting that evening.
Got their in just a bit over 2 hours. A beautiful drive up into the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountains.
Had a chance to walk the town of Nevada City in the early afternoon, chatting with many of the shop owners and handing out my campaign flyer.
We headed over to the local government center building to attend the scheduled 6:30pm republican party meeting.
The room was pretty packed, the folks were great and the enthusiasm of the crowd contagious.
Was blessed with the opportunity to speak to the entire committee for about 15 minutes or so. Passionately layed out the reasons I’m running for congress and took some really good questions.
Many thanks to the Nevada County Republican Party for allowing us to visit with them. A very special thank you is extended to Mr. Richard R. Ulery, Chairman, of this very fine group of conservative republicans.
God bless you and God bless America.

Is the RNC lying to us?…or, what now folks?
There still seems to be some disagreement of who should be the RNC candidate for 2012. This discussion’s not about the candidates!
It’s about published rules. It’s about ignoring said rules. It’s about unequal application of rules! Also, about disenfranchisement of voters. And documents certain untruths.
Perhaps it’s also about where we shall go from here….can we trust the RNC in the future to follow the will of the voters?
Let us begin:
In a Press release, April 1010 the RNC Announced the 2012 Presidential Nominating Schedule Committee rules. In a nutshell, the published rules are as follows:
- The four carve-out states of Iowa, Nevada, New Hampshire, South Carolina may begin their processes any time on or after February 1, 2012.
- The remainder of the states may begin no earlier than the first Tuesday of March 2012.
- Any state (other than the four carve-out states) that conducts its process prior to April 1, 2012, must allocate its delegates on a proportional basis.
- Any state that violates this Rule will lose 50% of its delegates, alternate-delegates and potentially face many other penalties.
Rule 3., Proportional Allocation was provided with no equivocation. None!
Rule 4., Loss of 50% of delegates, provides for addition penalty possibilities.
The ad hoc ruling in the case of Florida is an obvious suspension of the RNC’s published rule 3 and is an obvious case of favoritism.
Rule 3. was also agreed to by the convened committee Noteworthy is that of the 7 members, Paul Senft – National Committeeman, FL was on the committee, and was cognizant of the terms set forth therein!
No subsequent modifications to these rules by the committee have been published, nor any record of said meeting has been found.
This takes us to violations in SC and N.H. as well as Fla.. RNC chairman Reince Priebus’s statement @ http://caucuses.desmoinesregister.com/2011/10/25/gop-chairman-flori…“However, as a consequence, South Carolina and New Hampshire will also be stripped of half their delegates for the Republican National Convention”
These carve-out states are also defined in 2008_RULES_Adopted.pdf, an earlier document referenced later as well, below.
A misstatement by Chairman Reince Priebus?
Doubtful..clearly stated in both documents. In modern English. Not in “Legalese”
How do the present total delegate counts compare, by applying the RNC’s established and standing rules? I ran a quick spreadsheet: the output lines of which follow:
| Candidate |
Romney |
Newt |
Santorum |
Paul |
| Presently reported totals |
71 |
23 |

The above is not about candidates, really! One of them could be the Socialist Easter Bunny for all I care.( at least he redistributes to the kiddies) It’s about the subversion of the voter’s selections. Subversion of the rules. And reversal of the results of the of the Republican voter’s choices!
Time for more untruthful statements? Try this:
RNC General counsel Bill Crocker stated, in part, the following paragraph:
“With regard to proportionality, the RNC does not have the authority to intervene in a state’s primary plans beyond the imposition of the Rule 16 penalties. A contest procedure exists for challenges to a state’s delegation or delegates. The RNC cannot consider any issue regarding Florida’s delegation unless and until a proper contest is brought. If a contest is properly and timely filed, the Committee on Contests and the RNC will have the opportunity to hear the contest and determine if there are any further steps to be taken beyond the penalties that have already been imposed.“
The general council is referencing the 2008_RULES_Adopted.pdf, an earlier document and is choosing selected references only…. and only one the applicable clauses of rule 16! Without referencing the clauses, either… But let’s look briefly at the 2008 document…
Among the clauses misapplied would be South Carolina’s halving of delegates, in defiance of 15.(b)(1)
- (1) No primary, caucus, or
convention to elect, select, allocate, or bind delegates to
the national convention shall occur prior to the first
Tuesday in March in the year in which a national
convention is held. Except Iowa, New Hampshire,
South Carolina, and Nevada may begin their processes
at any time on or after February 1 in the year in which a
national convention is held and shall not be subject to
the provisions of paragraph (b)(2) of this rule.
The RNC council also misstated on Tuesday when he said ” In addition, the RNC Rules Committee imposed every available discretionary penalty ...” Reference is made to
- Any state (other than the four carve-out states) that conducts its process prior to April 1, 2012, must allocate its delegates on a proportional basis.
- Note also that “carve out states” have been injured to greater extent than the State of Florida, disallowed by the RNC rules to occur before March 6!
Perhaps he didn’t lie, since this is a mandatory penalty that was not applied, not discretionary!
To say that the RNC lacks control….they retain the authority to not seat them, hotel location, guest privileges,VIP passes and everything, really!See 16.(e)(3) for starters.
One can find many, many direct infractions of the rules, in both publications. All I will say is that we are being lied to repeatedly in these matters. You can read or take my word for it….I’ve provided links, references, quoted passages and so on.
There’s a lot more…I’m just not going to waste my time or yours further at this time! This post is simply getting too long. I’ve edited out about half of the information
Summary:
- The RNC is applying rules in an arbitrary manner. Rewarding some States while denying others their fair representation, in defiance of RNC’s own published rules.
- Delegate allocation to date appears to be a reversal of the actual front-runner totals, while denying full representation to the 3rd and 4th place candidates.
- In all States to date, the RNC’s positions have been in favor of a single candidate, without regard to the desires of the citizens of these Several States. While no proof of intent exists, misstatements at the top party levels are documented above and demonstrated to be false.
- Is it now time to discuss the formation of a party for Conservatives? While I have railed against such an idea, it appears plain the RNC wishes us only for our votes.
- I ask that this discussion not degrade into candidate bashing! Let us focus on the Republican Party! Is the RNC representing the will of Conservatives?
What say you
Friends,
It’s been a busy few days. So busy, in fact, I haven’t had time to blog an update on my travels.
This past Wednesday evening, I attended a special gathering of the Butte County Taxpayers’ Alliance in the chico area. What a wonderful group of committed conservatives intent on getting government spending under control rather than raising taxes. It’s a proven fact that raising taxes now would only serve to depress an already anemic economy and ultimately reduce the amount of revenue received. The best solution is to reduce taxes and cut regulations and unleash the entrepreneurial power and creativity of Americans! Thank you Butte County Taxpayers’ Alliance for the invitation! : )
Last night, Thursday, I attended and spoke at the Shasta County Republican Central Committee meeting in Redding. Was real nice seeing so many old friends. After my presentation, folks applauded my honesty, my passion and my desire to give the voters of the 1CD a clear choice in the upcoming election. Thank you SCRCC for the opportunity to come and speak…very much appreciated.
Today, we’re off to Susanville. Plan to walk the town and neighbors during the afternoon and visit the local newspaper. Then, there’s a wine and beef affair which ought to be a lot of fun.
More later….
Friends,
It’s been a tough few days.
The other day, I came very close to ending my campaign for Congress. It just didn’t feel like it
was worth it any longer. Perhaps I was just tired.
You know, I’m the first to admit I’m not flush with campaign cash. In fact, most of what I do is
self-funded, with the exception of a few dedicated supporters.
I’m the first to admit I don’t have Republican Party establishment backing. But, just so you
know, I honestly do wear that as a badge of honor and a symbol of my independence. Frankly, I’m known amongst
my friends as someone who always tells it like it is and lets the chips fall where they may. If the Republican Party
is screwing up, I’m not afraid to say so and hold it accountable.
I’m the first to admit I don’t have any special interest backing . . . and don’t want any. As far
as I’m concerned, that’s a major contributing factor that explains why America
is struggling at this very moment in time.
I’m also the first to admit I have no desire to make a career out of serving in Congress. It’s
a matter of record that, if elected, I will only serve a total of eight years. The whole idea of making a career
out of serving in Congress is repugnant to me and is also another major contributing factor, in my opinion, for America’s current sad state of affairs.
My friends, I’ve already completed my career, and that was serving proudly and honorably in the United States Air Force. Frankly, nothing else I do from here on out will ever compare to that experience.
And finally, I’m the first to admit I am a real long shot in this Congressional race. I must be either crazy or really dedicated to my conservative values to stay in this race and challenge the Republican establishment candidate. I’d prefer to think it’s the later.
Well, something happened the other day that gave me a shotof adrenalin and the energy to keep on going.
It was not a particularly good thing. It was the typical low-life campaign tactic one has, sadly, come to
expect from an opposing candidate’s camp. Except, in this particular case, it was directed towards one of my
supporters, who just happens to be a distinguished WW II veteran. It was behavior that was truly unprofessional,
undeserved and unsolicited. Because of that single event and the devastating impact it had on this American hero, I
have found a renewed energy that propels me forward in this campaign.
So, today, I put aside my own feelings of doubt, frustration and fatigue and begin to move ahead for the common good, for the good of that
American WW II hero, and for the good of America. For if I don’t, who will?
Although the challenge is great, so is the reward. Few things can compare to knowing you have served your country with honor, with
humility, with distinction.
God bless you and God bless America!
Friends,
I wrote the below editorial back in January 2011, urging our representatives in Congress not to raise the debt ceiling. Of course, they didn’t listen to me or most Americans.
Unfortunately, nothing’s changed and our Nation is hurtling full speed ahead over the cliff.
Doing the same old thing won’t change the way business is done in Washington. Sending the same old establishment politicians to Washington won’t change a dang thing.
Please consider supporting citizen legislators who are only interested in Putting America First…not their political party; not their special interest buddies; not their own personal greed.
Time is running out for your children, your grandchildren, for America…
Editorial, January 9, 2011, Record Searchlight:
Today, our nation finds herself on the verge of financial ruin with no fix in sight.
Sure, plenty of political hand-wringing. Lots of finger-pointing. More recycled debt commission recommendations. And, of course, the usual dose of broken promises, all intended to assure voters things will be just fine. But no solutions. No specifics on where and when hard spending cuts will be made.
While politicians fiddle around the edges, the city of Rome burns.
Now within a hair’s breadth of the $14.294 trillion debt ceiling, President Obama is using presidential muscle to urge another increase in the ceiling, allowing America to continue on her unbridled spending binge.
Funny, since then-Sen. Obama took a defiant stand in 2006 against raising the nation’s debt ceiling, proclaiming that “raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. America has a debt problem and a failure of leadership. Americans deserve better.”
Obama got it right in 2006. It’s a failure of leadership. But, he’s on the wrong track today. Just like those who preceded him were wrong when they raised the ceiling 74 times since 1962 rather than cutting spending.
Folks, it’s long past time we cut up the national credit card. Time to go cold turkey. Time to endure the consequences of our actions. It won’t be easy. It won’t be pretty. And it will likely prove painful. But, like an addict kicking a drug habit, the short-term sacrifice is worth the long-term gain.
No more hand-wringing. No more fear tactics. No more finger pointing. No more broken promises. No more debt ceiling increases. Let’s take the bitter pill and get on the road to real recovery.
Dare I say, the day of reckoning has arrived.
Friends,
Here’s another insightful article published today by the Tea Party Nation.
As the article says, the good ‘ole boy club is alive and well within the Republican Party.
Truly, our only hope is to send new freshmen conservative citizen legislators to Washington who will break up this inside the beltway club and begin “Putting America First”.
Do real conservatives have the guts to do what’s right? Only time will tell.
Republicans – It’s Starting to Look Like the 1950s
Why were the Republicans content to hold a minority status in the House of Representatives for 40 years – that’s a question that should be addressed? They were perfectly content playing gotcha and what ifs for all of those years living the good life asking taxpayers to work harder, work longer hours because even back then they couldn’t balance a budget or address the real issues at hand.
Over the years, they’d grown accustomed to the many amenities offered so they took the road of least resistance enjoying the good life pretty much forgetting that they were a public servant.
When Newt Gingrich entered stage left determined to take the House back giving Republicans control they were pretty excited and supported Newt, until they discovered that Newt had a reason for wanting Republicans to control the House meaning they were going to have to shed their “cushy” jobs roll up their sleeves and actually do an honest day’s work.
A few disgruntled Republicans attempted a coup against Newt, which blew up in smoke and left them with egg on their face. Then they worked with Pelosi and filed 84 ethics violations against Newt; he was exonerated on all of these frivolous complaints.
In 2009, we can pretty much compare the attitude and performance of the Old Republican Establishment to the early 1950”s – they have transitioned back to a “do nothing party.” In 2009 the nonchalant “do nothing party” growled and complained about the 787 billion dollar stimulus and the rapidly growing National Deficit and then retreated to their little cocoons safe from public scrutiny.
In the meantime Obama, Pelosi, Reid and the Democrats had a hay day redistributing taxpayers’ hard earned money. Where were the Republicans in 2009 and 2010 when Obama passed the Obamacare, redistributed our money to corrupt lenders, Unions, Special Interest groups and paid his big bundlers off in advance so his second term would be a “shoo in.”
Why didn’t they protect our businesses big and small from being devoured by the EPA and Obamacare? Their feeble excuse that they were a minority just doesn’t hold water!
It’s obvious that they weren’t doing their job – Americans weren’t even in the cheap seats, they were literally non-existent players, because the Old Republican Establishment threw up their hands and said “there’s nothing we can do we’re in the minority.”
Here’s where the _ _ _ _ hits the fan folks, they could have prevented the Obamacare fiasco if they’d wanted to get their hands dirty and find out what was really going on behind closed doors.
They could have stopped the billions of dollars that the DOE (Department of Energy) handed out to Obama’s green octopuses, but they didn’t. They could have monitored every dime of our stimulus money and protected our investment, but they were just too busy playing Washington Politics to be bothered with anything as trivial as 787 billion dollars, a healthcare bill and a runaway EPA.
In 2010 an awesome group of freshman Republicans actually helped them take control of the House once again; this was even a larger prevalence of freshmen Republicans then in 1994.
Freshmen like Paul Ryan, Marco Rubio, Allen West and about 83 other Republican freshmen landed in Washington D.C. ready to “Take Back Our Country but the old establishment clapped their hands, did a lot of back patting, crowing and strutting around and immediately clambered to get back into their little cocoons and returned to their “elite do nothing club.”
The old Republican establishment doesn’t want Newt Gingrich back in Washington; they don’t want to roll up their sleeves and get their hands dirty. In fact they’d rather point fingers, complain and pretend they’re fighting the good fight to take back our Country while 14 million Americans are without jobs and millions are still losing their homes.
May God Bless America

“Into the Wild Blue Yonder”
Northern California Veterans Cemetery in Igo, California is a place of honor, dignity, reverence and reflection. It’s a very special place, especially to America’s military veterans, their families and friends. A quiet, yet uniquely proud, place. A place where many of our nation’s heroic soldiers, sailors, airmen, marines, and coast guardsmen have come to rest with their comrades-in-arms.
One day in the not too distant future, five new memorials will be incrementally added to these hallowed grounds. One memorial for each of the five military services, including the Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force and Coast Guard. They will be placed geometrically around the cemetery’s main flag circle, the favored site of such programs as Memorial Day, Veterans Day and Wreaths Across America.
In November 2011, Secretary Peter J. Gravett, California Department of Veterans Affairs, formally approved the service memorial project concept. Included in this approval was the go-ahead to begin work on the first of the five service memorials, this one dedicated to the men and women of the United States Air Force. If things go as planned, a dedication ceremony of the Air Force memorial is slated for 2013.
“Although it will be the first service-oriented monument at the state-operated facility, it will likely not be the last”, said Stephen Jorgensen, cemetery administrator.
“We included the concept of memorials for all five branches of service — the Air Force, Navy, Marines, Army and Coast Guard — along with this proposal and that concept has been approved by Secretary Gravett. Now we have a place for each service memorial and we have set parameters for height and size for all of them,” Jorgensen explained.
The 14-foot tall bronze and stainless steel memorial, a symbol of the Air Force’s history and mission, is titled “Into the Wild Blue Yonder”. When constructed, it will include a bronze globe 6-feet in diameter resting atop a 3-foot high pyramid with an 8-foot square base. Encircling the globe and thrusting 6 to 8-feet upward will be a stainless steel contrail or aircraft path ending in a deltoid-shaped aerospace vehicle.
“Each side of the pyramid base will feature a different inscription including a memorial dedication, an explanation of the memorial’s symbolism, lyrics to the Air Force song and the evolution of the Air Force”, explained retired Air Force Colonel Pete Stiglich of Cottonwood, who is chairing the Air Force memorial committee comprised of local veterans and civilians. Assisting with design development is local artist/sculptor, Gideon Carl Turner III, of Redding.
“What we are doing is creating a shrine to our Veterans, both living and dead,” Jorgensen explained. “It has never been my vision for this place to simply be a cemetery. A shrine must contain a variety of memorials where people can come to appreciate the history, sacrifice and military contributions of the countless veterans who have served our country so unselfishly.”
Kellie Jokela, who chairs the Northern California Veterans Cemetery Support Board, said of the Air Force monument, “I cannot think of a better way to show our appreciation for the dedication of those who served in the U.S. Air Force than to have a memorial erected in their honor,” Jokela said.
Fundraising is underway to cover the costs of creating the memorial and constructing it on-site at the veterans cemetery. Inscribed pavers are being sold that will be used to create the pad upon which the memorial will be placed. Donations are also being accepted from individuals and corporations. Other fundraising opportunities are being planned.
Anyone interested in learning more about the Air Force memorial or wishing to purchase an inscribed paver for a loved one is invited to visit the Air Force Memorial’s official website at www.usafmemorial.org. Donations can be mailed to NCVC-SB, P.O. Box 177, Redding, CA 96099-0177. Please make checks payable to NCVC-SB, and indicate on the memo line the donation is intended for the Air Force Memorial project.

Had to make a tough call yesterday as to whether or not to have the team travel over Hatchett Mountain to attend a tea party meeting in Fall River Mills. Seeing how I’ve never had the chance to make the drive in the past, I relied on input from other team members and friends whether or not they felt it was in the best interests of safety to make the trip Tuesday afternoon, returning later that night. General consensus was it would not be a good idea to go given possible changes in road conditions. My deepest regrets to those in Fall River Mills for not being able to make the tea party meeting.
Spent the afternoon close to home. Walked most of downtown Redding for the better part of the afternoon meeting voters and handing out my campaign fliers. Had a great meal at Danburgers off Placer Ave downtown….great burger and fries!
Am meeting a couple other veterans this morning at 6am to travel to Sacramento. We’re attending a seminar on how to qualify for the Combined Federal Campaign (CFC). As some of you know, I am chairing a committee to erect an Air Force Memorial out at the Northern California Veterans Cemetery. Getting qualified for CFC would be another source of funds for this project.
Latest word is former State Senator Sam Aanestad is getting into the Congressional race. Good for him. The more the merrier and the more choices for voters. I love democracy in action! : )
That’s it for now. More Walking Tour updates soon.
Have a great day and God bless!
The RINOs are loosing it.

Less than 24 hours have passed since Newt Gingrich convincingly won South Carolina. The RINO establishment has been going nuts since then.
Every major RINO has been coming unglued this morning at the prospect that Newt Gingrich the scrappy conservative might beat liberal Mitt Romney and become the GOP nominee.
The formerly conservative and now snotty Ann Coulter got snarky early this morning on Fox and Friends, sniffing that Republicans were throwing away the chance to win just so they could have Gingrich throw zingers out at Obama.
Really? How about a little proof that liberal Mitt Romney can win? That of course is about as realistic as the chances of a real Democratic tax cut.
RINO Washington Post columnist Jennifer Rubin absolutely lost it in her tweets last night. Today she penned an open letter to the RINO establishment begging them to get someone to stop the conservative. After all, the RINO establishment would rather see four more years of Obama than they would see conservatives take control of the party again.
Fred Barnes quickly got on the Weekly Standard to give Mitt Romney the advice he would need to beat Newt Gingrich.
Get a big idea. The only reason people like Newt is because of big ideas.
Fred, here is a clue. The fact the ideas are big is a bonus. We like it because Newt actually has ideas. We like the fact Newt is a leader.
Newt understands something none of these RINOs do not. He understands what real Americans understand.
We say things like, “Government is not the solution, it is the problem.” “The problem with Washington is it takes too much, does too much, rules too much.” “Washington spends too much money.” “We are taxed enough already.”
For conservatives, these words have meaning. These are principles we live by. These are truths that are self-evident and problems that we must correct.
Freedom and liberty are words we live by. They are not punch lines for jokes or simply an arcane liturgy that must be recited for the great unwashed masses.
RINOs simply laugh at conservatives, like liberals do.
Like liberals, they think they are superior to the folks who live in real America.
RINOs gave us John McCain and the big spending Republican congresses that all but killed the Republican Party. It was the real Americans who are members of the Tea Party that brought the Republican Party back from the edge of extinction.
We have some news for you RINOs. This is our year, not yours. We saved the party you almost destroyed. You can sit down and get out of the way.
This is the year of the Conservative, not the RINO.
Attended a candidate Meet & Greet on Thursday sponsored by the Chico Republican Women’s Federated.
A great turn-out, delicious food and wonderful folks!
Thank you so very much for hosting this fantastic event and for the invitation to attend.
God bless you and God bless America!

Is the RNC Representing the Will of the People?
The general council is referencing the 2008_RULES_Adopted.pdf, an earlier document and is choosing selected references only…. and only one the applicable clauses of rule 16! Without referencing the clauses, either… But let’s look briefly at the 2008 document…
Among the clauses misapplied would be South Carolina’s halving of delegates, in defiance of 15.(b)(1)
convention to elect, select, allocate, or bind delegates to
the national convention shall occur prior to the first
Tuesday in March in the year in which a national
convention is held. Except Iowa, New Hampshire,
South Carolina, and Nevada may begin their processes
at any time on or after February 1 in the year in which a
national convention is held and shall not be subject to
the provisions of paragraph (b)(2) of this rule.
The RNC council also misstated on Tuesday when he said ” In addition, the RNC Rules Committee imposed every available discretionary penalty ...” Reference is made to
Perhaps he didn’t lie, since this is a mandatory penalty that was not applied, not discretionary!
Summary:
What say you
